Smudge Diary #1,

The Sofa, The Bed, and the Bold Refusal to Sit Anywhere Else

Greetings humble readers. It is I, Smudge, domestic panther, emotionally complex cuddle connoisseur, and master of selective lounging.

Loafed too close to the sun and lost my legs! WHERE ARE MY LEGS?!

Today, as with most days, I completed my Lap of the Kingdom (The House). I then returned to one of my two loyal thrones.

  • The Sofa: For casual loafing, pretty pretzeling, and cozy croissanting, and judgmental glances.
  • The Bed: Reserved for Sun Bathing on weekends, and night time biscuit making and soul staring.

Chose not to grace the cart tree today. Again. No comment.

My human read a book – something emotional judging by the audible gasps – and supervised from the bed, curled into a flawless doughnut, tail tucked just so. It was a 5/5 Nap Read. I did not drool Probably.

Phew! I found my legs! Lucky we didn’t panic. Going to keep a close eye on them now.

Later, I was rewarded with a cool flannel spa session and a frozen Licky Lix Paw-sicle (crafted with alarming love). I purred.

I continue to avoid sitting anywhere unexpected. Why would I? The blanket on the chair smells like me. The bed smells like love. Other spots are just … chaos.

Till next time,
